Overnighter

January 18

I had been feeling the urge to get away. But it wasn't reasonable with Jon's new job, and we had just gone for Thanksgiving. We decided to use our CC points and get a room at the Little America in SLC.

Zac got off school early that day, so we headed out to Ikea to grab a few thing and lunch. Then we checked in to the hotel and watched cartoons while we waited for Jon to get back from work.

We went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square. Then came back to go swimming. The water wasn't that warm and Enzo was pretty stimulated by all the people. It was super busy. After he started to get used to the noise and busyiness, we went over to the hot tub. Again, it was busy. But one wall was a mirror and Enzo enjoyed playing in the mirror.

(I've been realizing that Enzo is super sensitive. Even more than my other boys. This last weekend (Memorial Day) we were getting all ready to leave for a hike, and he was pretty stressed out with all going all over the place and getting things ready. I don't if he thought we were going to leave him or just that he didn't know what was going on and we were in a hurry. But he did seem to calm after I got him dressed and put his shoes on.)

I was a little worried about Enzo sleeping well with us all in the same room, especially because he was diagnosed with influenza that week. Ten days of a yoyoing fever and lethargic baby. But he did great and slept the whole night! Max was the one coughing a lot of the night.

The next day we had a Munk sibling reunion at Sarah's. So we took it easy in the morning went to lunch. Then stopped to play at Boondocks in the latyon area. Jon took a little me time and tried his hand at flying. Enzo slept the whole time. Then we went and met the family. Fun weekend!

The Next Big Thing: Goal Zero

At this point this is old news, but Jon started a new job at Goal Zero in the middle of January. He was going to be the Director of Consumer Marketing, online marketing pretty much, then the first day there they promoted him and made him the Senior Director of Marketing.  This is an amazing company. The make portable solar chargers. You can use solar panels to charge your devices, or use solar panels to charge battery packs to charge your devices, or charge the battery packs from the wall to charge your devices. I have "the switch" and I love it b/c I can charge my phone when I'm out and about, not in the car.  It does it in the same time plugging my phone in the wall would charge it. They have lithium (solar powered) batteries that can charge a fridge!

This is their website. Jon was working on a commercial last month or so with Alex Honnold. The picture here is from the shoot. They were in Moab somewhere.

I was honestly so sad for him to leave Skullcandy. His team has become family. Even a couple weeks after he started the new job, I drove by the Skullcandy office in Park City and got emotional. But nonetheless this is such an exciting opportunity and such a great place to be at such a great time! We are excited to see what this brings!

Snow Fort

A few years ago, we got a ton of snow and Jon made a snow fort for the boys. They LOVED it and have wanted to make another one ever since. We've never had quite enough snow. It got close this year, but still wasn't enough.

Crafting with the Kids

First half of January

Zac's school had an extra week off after Christmas and Jon decided it was time to leave Skullcandy (more on that later) and took two weeks off before starting the new job. We kept Max home from school and enjoyed two weeks of family time and resetting our priorities.

Zac got this volcano for his birthday last year. And we finally had time to enjoy putting it together.

Max also wanted to make a craft. I saw this popsicle boat on pinterest from a Martha Stewart craft. He enjoyed making it with me. It got a little ruined in the water when the wood swelled. Note to self: put more space between the sticks next time.

Bowling with Cousins

Early January

Rachel and Jeremy were here for Christmas and stayed a couple weeks after. It was great to be able to spend more time with them! We sure wish they lived closer! We had lunch at Costa Vida and then bowled at Fat Cats.  (Most of the pics from here on out are from my phone. Its just become so much easier with the phone. I hope they come out good enough to print and I don't regret not using my camera)

Love these two little guy! I wish we lived closer so they could be good friends!
