Easter

March 31

With Jon being in the Bishopric its been a trick to get Easter pictures on Sunday because he's gone all day.  This was the best I could get using the timer, with the camera on a pillow on the kitchen table. I considered cropping out the fridge and all the papers, but eh, that's real life and I'm hoping to capture that a little more on here.

Jon's sister Sarah, made these bow ties for the boys, for David's wedding.

Dying Easter Eggs

March 30

There's not much to say about dying eggs. We do it every year. And every year I like it less...But its for the kids right?

Enzo got to play with some plastic eggs

I like that Jon likes it and gets into it, so thats great!

I worked on fixing a door hanging I made a few years ago. Surprisingly, the fake grass melted with the hot sun shining on it.

This was around Easter Family Home Evening.

Easter Egg Hunt with Zac's Class

March 29

How weird to have Easter in March....anyway. I'm the room mom in Zac's class, which pretty much means, I arrange carpools for feild trips, help find people to fill in if there is helped needed in class, and just help where needed. Luckily, I didn't have to do too much. But the mom in charge of the class parties asked me to hide the Easter Eggs while she did music with the class. I thought cool, I get to help, but not have to be in charge or do much :)

We went to an area behind the school and hid the eggs. Each student was supposed to get sic, but of course they were getting like 10 and some only 3, so we needed to get that taken care of. She also had a golden egg with little japanese animal puzzle erasers in them-fun stuff!

TOMS Shoes Fix

March 27

These were my first TOMS and I got them a few years ago. Unfortunately, I put holes in both toes within a couple weeks. We had recently moved and the house had one step up the front door that I always forgot about. My toes would hit the step nearly every time I walked in the front door and put holes in both shoes. They are so comfortable, yet fairly expensive so I didn't want to get rid of them. I wanted to still wear them. Well I had seen ideas on pinterest on how to fix them, and decided it was time.  I was going to AZ for spring break and wanted to wear these shoes for traveling because they were comfortable and easy to take on and off at security. I found some cute fabric napkins (with a hem) at World Market in Park City and decided to use one of them. I just used fabric glue on the canvas and glued the napkin to the shoe. I think they turned out great!

Natural History Museum of Utah

March 26

I helped with carpool for Zac's class when we went to Museum of Natural History. I'd never been there before. It was great! The kids loved it!

This was a cool ant hill.  It really was amazing to see the different things that the ants were doing, crawling over another, digging a new path, fighting.

They also had these fun scenes, with animals, plants and insects that are native to that environment. They had a wheel with pictures and information on each animal in the scene. The boys in my group had a great time finding each one.

I thought this was really cool. Mostly, probably because I had a hard time with physical discomfort and I can't imagine what it was like to wear shoes like these in the extremely different seasons and rough terrain.

I loved this description of the area

They also had a really cool water table. It was a topographical map of Salt Lake and surrounding areas. It was closed in and you could control the amount of "rain" it got and see what would flood at certain water levels.

They also had another cool exhibit where you could build a tower and set an earthquake off and see what happens with different levels and types of movement of the plates. They also had a pad where you and anyone you want could jump and it would measure the seismic waves you created.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but these deep bright blue butterflies are beautiful.

It was great. I really love going on field trips with Zac's class. We also get to take Max and Enzo along so its really fun that we get to experience it all together and for free! Enzo was awesome. He just sat in the stroller the whole time. He is an observer so he loves to watch and take everything in.

Jon's Birthday!

March 26

What's this?

Jon has wanted a gas powered RC car forever, and he finally got one!

Its taken quite a bit to get it tuned right. But its been a fun project for him.

Carrot cake!

More Random

March 21

Last fall I took a cake decorating class with some friends. They like to do projects occasionally. And I "helped" them. I really only mixed color into the fondant and baked the tops tier. They are the masters :)  "We" made this for the Relief Society Birthday Dinner.

March 25

This is the train table at the bank. It was so weird when Enzo was over there playing. I just keep thinking he is a baby. In fact, I still call him "Baby". With my other boys I was in a hurry to get them to the next stage, but this time I'm like sooo down. I'm not worrying about exposing him to new things. He'll get it eventually. Anyway, I just couldn't believe he was big enough to being playing at the train table.

Enzo is awesome in the mornings! So happy. He has now learned to push the buttons on the musical toy behind him. When I come in in the morning he pushes the buttons to turn the music on and starts to jump up and down.

Tissue Paper Easter Eggs

March 19

I saw these tissue paper eggs on pinterest a couple years ago and really wanted to make them. Things in  life were just too hectic and I wasn't able to get things together to make them. But this year I hosted a craft day with some friends. It was fun and easy to make these once I got all the supplies prepared.

A Couple Good Ones

March 16

Zac made this leprechaun trap. The sneaky little guy got away.

March 18

Zac reading Pete and Penny Pizza Puzzles. He really likes these books, there's little puzzles as he reads to solve the mystery.

Enzo's Birthday

March 16

Since Enzo's party was about a week before we decided to do have a little cake and open the presents that we got him on his birthday-or rather the next day I guess. I can't remember why? Jon probably had something going and couldn't be home that night.

We took a family walk to Days Market to get dinner, again-in the wagon, with the rock out (our new favorite around here).

We BBQed burgers and had angle food cake, strawberries and homemade whipped cream-soo good!!

I love the different facial expressions!

I don't remember why he's crying. But still very cute :)

Didn't last long though

Presents!

I love fisher price little people. They were one of my favorites growing up and when Zac was a baby I found a big city set at a second hand store. I didn't get it because I thought, we don't need it. About a week later, I decided I wanted it and luckily it was still there. Zac loved it and any kids that come over do it.

I decided I wanted to get a Noah's ark set for Enzo. But as I was looking I realized that they are expensive, and don't offer many animals, and the animals did come are kind of ugly....anyway, I got on Ebay and found a bunch of set. Most of them had weird mixed sets. But I found one that had great animals and I found that I could buy a new set of animals to add on and none were repeats! yay! haha (I'm lame I know.) This is one of his favorite toys. Its been kind of a trick to make sure we don't lose each animal set. Oh, also the main set I bought only had Noah, I think older sets had his wife too, but they don't sell it like that anymore. I found his wife on Ebay and bought her separately. Noah needs his partner! I know, boring for all those reading, but it was a great find for me. Good thing I don't have girls, otherwise getting toy sets would be insane for that....
