A Night Out with Rachel

I LOVE going out with my sister, just us. There is always one point where we are laughing our heads off and one of us has to pee!

The weekend Lexie got married was also the RS General Broadcast. I was able to get 2 tickets for us to go!  We met up in Heber and drove to SLC.

Jon keeps telling me about this great mexican restaurant called the Red Iguana. When Rachel told me she wanted Mexican, I thought perfect! I had to take a pic to send to Jon, so he'd be jealous :)

We had great tickets at the conference center! I've never been so close. It was so awesome!

Here we are trying to take pics of ourselves and laughing how how they came out and trying to get a better pic

The rest of the conference center

Then we tried to get pics outside with the temple and I forgot the flash!

Now my hand is in the way

Got one! But didn't get the temple in it.

Someone kindly offered to help us.

After the picture problems, we were just downright goofy. And I had to pee. Luckily, after waiting for 15 mins in a parking lot of traffic and watching women all around trying to find where they parked. I suggested turning around and seeing if maybe there was another exit that we could get out of faster. And in 2 mins we were out of the parking lot!

I love these times. I wish she lived closer so they could happen more. But even then....she is here now for the holidays (Jan 7) but still I've hardly seen her! :(

Lexie's Wedding

Sept 28
My little sister, Lexie, married Ben Adams. And I planned the wedding.  I don't know what kind of details I'll want to know/remember about this as I read this post in years to come. It turned out beautifully. Other than not being easy to get ahold of her at the beginning it was good to work with lexie and fun to do this together. It was great to see all the work come together. There was a few problems, like the power not being turned on at the ceremony location in the canyon, the bridal party flowers being 30 mins late to the ceremony, the grooms parents being 40 mins late to the reception, the maid of honor being 35 mins late to the reception with the sign in book, oh and the wedding cake being lopsided, cracked and not decorated as described by the bride. It was great!! And the bride was very agreeable :). The ceremony was in the provo canyon passed vivan park and big springs park. The reception was in the backyard of the Mitton's gorgeous huge home. Her colors were navy, gray, sunflower yellow and a pop of pink. She picked her announcement design and I designed it for her. Her flowers were sunflowers. My dad build a canopy/arch for the ceremony.  It was made of river logs on top and had white chiffon flowing down the sides. We served 3 kinds of soup, baguettes, and pie. She had a connection with a caterer friend/employer, which was fabulous because he offered his equipment for free! And even set it up and took it down for free!

It was great to see how happy she was!

This was before the ceremony. I wish I had taken pictures of the set up. It was really pretty. I took all these pictures on my new iPhone 5.

Zac and I before the ceremony. Behind me is part of the arch. I loved the dress I got for the wedding and I found shoes that matched perfectly! And the little boys looked amazing too!!

This is the reception in backyard. My dad strung the lights.

This was a candid shot as you can see. They were always talking to people it was pretty hard to get a picture. :)

These are the boutonnieres. It was really fun to pick the flowers out with Lexie and decide what to have in each arrangement. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out. I wish I'd taken more pics. I love love the ones the little boys had!

This is the cake. There wasn't supposed to be flowers on it, but we had my aunt add them to cover up the problem spots.

This was the backdrop for the line-so pretty!

Zac and MY cousin Abigail. They are the same age! They had a fun time playing together.

Cascade Springs Field Trip

Zac goes to a charter school that requires the families to volunteer 3 hours a week. One of the ways I get those hours is by carpooling for his class field trips. They go on feild trips at least once a month.  Generally, they are pretty cool feild trips. Places I want to go with him and places where it's fun to take Max and Enzo too. They went to Cascade Springs when the leaves were at the best fall colors. I've never been to cascade springs. And I didn't know how to get there. Luckily, there is always someone to follow. I was surprised at the dirt road and it took about 20 mins to get there.  But it s a fun drive and so so so beautiful with the changing leaves and the view of the valley.

We could see Heber and Deer Creek. Casacde springs is in the middle of the mountains to the west of Heber valley and north of Provo canyon. I had no idea!

The waterfalls, leaves, and landscape were just beautiful.

Pictionary

I made up this little drawing game sometime last spring. Zac was feeling self conscious about his drawing so I thought we could practice together. Cut up a bunch of little papers and and wrote different items on them, like fork, bird, door, rocket, leaf, etc. And we would both take turns picking a paper and we would each draw it on a little square piece of paper. My hopes were to help him see other ways to draw the same thing and make the drawing less intimidating with one object rather than, draw the front of your house...

Sometime mid-september, Jon decided to play dictionary with the boys and started making up little objects for them to draw. When I noticed what they were doing I pulled out the box of our drawing items.

I'm surprised, but it was really fun to play with the boys and they were pretty good at drawing the pictures.

Jon was the MC and had some game show music in the background.

Ward Campout

Sept 9
We went to our ward campout in September. I planned to just hangout for the evening and bring Enzo home. Jon would stay overnight with the older boys. It was a really nice time. It was getting pretty chilly so I bundled Enzo up in this little bear suit I got him for the cold. He is just sooooo adorable in it! This was after we got home. I ended up staying til around 9:30 and Enzo fell asleep around 8 probably.
