Happy Birthday Grandpa Lyle Munk!

We went to Idaho Falls this last weekend. Jon's grandpa Lyle turned 80 this year. And his wife and her family threw a big party for his family. It was great. All of his posterity was able to come except 4 members.

I will try to post a better picture later.

We left about 2p on Friday afternoon. After a morning busy with packing. I can't beileve how long it took me. I was trying to pack as light as we could-we have a small car. This was as light as I could pack. Backpack of food/snacks, toy bag (we were at a few houses who have no kids), diaper bag, activity bag for car ride, portacrib, kids clothes bag, mom and dad clothes bag, sleeping bag for zac.
The Dave drove up with us. It was a tight squeeze wtih all of us. But it was sooo nice to have Dave there. He helped so much with keeping Zac entertained. And Max did great too! He just slept on and off, and was soo low key, and quiet-just hanging out in the carseat.
We had dinner on Friday at Jason and Kari's. It was fun to catch up with everyone. Jon's parents were there, and Emily was there too. Then we had the birthday party on Saturday in Blackfoot. They had a program where family members performed. It was fun. People shared fun memories, Emily sang beautifully! And Annie played the viloin great! It made me a bit nastalgic... I miss playing too.
Then we just hung out at Kris and Mardean's and relaxed. On Sunday we went to sacrament and then drove back home. It was a good trip. And the boys were soooo good. I just can't beileve it!

The Car Show and Ikea

On Saturday, Lexie watched the boys while we went to the Car Show in Sandy. We are in the market for a bigger car. There isn't a much better way to shop for a car than with the car show and their no selling atmosphere.

A few years ago we got a certificate in the mail that said if we test drove a car at a certain dealership and brought the post card in then we could get a free weekend at a hotel. So we decided what do we have to loose? Jon loves cars and its fun to test drive a new one...well the salesman was very pushy. We ended up being there for like 2 hours and he pushed us so far as to get us to consent for him to run our credit...even though we weren't in the market to buy a car...we just wanted the free hotel! Anyway, yeah it was just soo rude and we have had negative feelings about the dealership ever since.

We haven't test drove any cars yet. We'll probably do that in the next couple months. But after looking around at the car show we want a cross-over type SUV with a third row that can split fold down to get more cargo space. And a car that is wide enough to comfortably fit 3 carseats across the bench-for when the time comes. We decided that a mini-van is way too big.

We have 5 cars that we want to go test drive.

The Subaru Tribeca. This one is probably the smallest of the cars we like, but has all the amenities that we would want. But is the car we most agree on.

Then the Mazda CX-9 is second choice

CX-9 Cargo Space
Then the Honda Pilot. I think it is bigger than we need. But I have loved them for so long. Personally, I like the look of the older models.
Then Jon wants me to try the Ford Flex...I really don't like it...and I think it is even bigger than the Pilot.
Some others are the Toyota Highlander, Ford Taurus X.

Here are some pictures of a fancy Audi. I wasn't paying much attention to other cars except those with the things we need right now. But Jon is always looking at cars...especially sporty ones!

Then after the car show, Jon dropped me off to meet my sister at Ikea. I was helping her to shop for things to decorate her front room. Thanks to Jeff I have now been looking at Ikea furniture for our house. I love this piece(s) so I had to take a picture. I think it would look great in our family room!!

Then on Monday Jon took Zac to his first movie at the movie theater. They went and saw Madagascar 2. Zac loved it. He sat on Dad's lap since all the booster seats where gone and Zac couldn't see. And they ate lots of candy. Then we went to Toys'r'us to find a birthday present. Then we went to Eddie's birthday.

Fog Crystals

For about a week it has been soooo foggy around here at night. Since it is sooo cold the moisture crystallizes on everything outside. Its very pretty. These pics aren't the best...but I hope you can get an idea of how pretty it really is.

More Max

Max is so cute and sometimes it takes several pictures to catch it! He just got out of the bath so he is very happy. Since it is sooo cold and dry here the boys get lathered after the bath, so he is shiny with lotion and vaseline :P

New Years and More

Jon's brother Dave was here for New Years and it was so nice to have more family around. We wanted to go to Ruby River for dinner, without the boys. When we got there at 5:30p, there was a 95 mins wait....so yeah..we decided to go somewhere else. After a lot of brainstorming and hoping we could find somewhere with a much smaller wait time, we decided to try The Bombay House. There was no wait and the food was great! I sure love curry! Then we came home and watched Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, watched the ball drop, had martinelli's and chex mix. The next day Jon and Dave went snow shoeing. Then the next day Jon "dropped" Dave off at BYU. This is his first semester.

Jon had so much fun snow-shoeing that he wanted to keep the shoes an extra day and go again. So he and I went while Rachel watched the boys. It was so fun, refreshing, and beautiful. It was the best to just hang out with Jon and reconnect. It snowed several inches the day/night before and we were the first to blaze the trail. We didn't have very much time and somehow we lost the unmarked trail in the snow. So we just tromped around in the show, and enjoyed the scenery.

I also wanted to thank the great guy with the mini loader who came and moved the snow so we could easily get out of the drive way.

Jon was taking Christmas down while I bathed the boys, and listening to Pandora radio's Billy Joel station-great one! The boys had a GREAT time dancing around. It also spent a lot of energy to make bedtime more welcoming.
