President's Day

Not much can beat a brand new pair of bowling shoes, mostly because it is a rare thing.

We cleaned up our house really good on President's Day, and then went to do some fun things. We tried to make the most of this day since Jon doesn't get home til later.

We wanted to go bowling, but after going to a place that had a 45 min wait, and calling another that had a 45 min wait, we called another a few cities away. They had a 30 min wait, but in the next city they had opened a new bowling alley, that day. We headed up and there was no wait, perfect! And it was a brand new perfect facilities that smelled nice and new. It was awesome to wear these shoes for the first time!

Rachel took the boys bowling a few weeks ago when we were on our Anniversary trip, and they loved it. And they loved it this time too. There was this nice ramp that helped our game go faster.

Holding a 6 lb. ball

Haha, so dramatic. Max loved when it was his turn to go get the ball off the return and carry it over and put it on the ramp, with help of course :)

Zac won the game!! The three of us who used bumpers got better scores. But even with the bumper, I managed to get a few gutter balls. We suck at bowling. Maybe Jon and I should take a class together. That would be fun.

Then we went to Fuddruckers for dinner; I wanted to keep my house clean :) Then we headed over to Out n' Back. They were having a great sale. I have no snow pants or boots, and Jon doesn't have any gloves. He got some gloves and I got some snow pants. We just got him some boots a few weeks ago, for the Scout's Klondike, and I got him some snow pants at Plato's Closet a few months ago. He didn't have any goggles either. But he has a great connection at work and was able to get some Oakley's for FREE!! Yay!! We are finally trying to get our own stuff so we don't have to borrow every year. Then we came back put the kids to bed and watched a movie. It was a nice relaxing afternoon and evening. Perfectly satisfying President's Day.
